The GLOBE Programme
Environmental education using the internet
GLOBE is in international programme involving 5,000 schools over 70 countries worldwide.  It encourages pupils to measure aspects of their local environment and report their results over the internet.  Data from schools around the world are then available for pupils to use in a wide range of topics, project and classroom activities.
The Year of the Environment has sponsored one hundred schools interested in participating.  This required a twilight training session organised by Ward End School.
