What a waste!
This month's theme is WASTE.
Dealing with modern everyday waste is a major headache for local
councils everywhere. What can you do?
 | Check out your bin! Glass, bottles, cans, paper and plastic
can all be recycled. Use your local council collection scheme
or the recycling facilities at your local supermarket. |
 | Help by bagging and binning nappies and cotton buds. |
 | Try to buy things that have less packaging, such as loose
fruit and vegetables. You’ll find it’s cheaper too! |
 | Avoid junk mail! Over half of it is never read, so have your
name and address removed from mailing lists by writing to
Mailing Preference Services, Freepost 22, London W1E 7EZ |
 | So much of the mail we receive is only used on one side. Why
not turn it into scrap paper for shopping lists and notes? |
