Film Club: free after school resources
Film Club: free after school resources

FILMCLUB is a government backed and Ofsted commended educational charity that enables schools to set up and run extra-curricular, weekly film clubs.

FILMCLUB is flexible, easy to use, and covers all age groups from Key Stage 1 right through to Key Stage 5.

Through FILMCLUB, young people watch, discuss and review the very best in world cinema every week.  With the chance to see a total of 39 films in an average school year, club members are taken on diverse film journeys, which in turn support their cultural, social and academic development.

The charity (no. 1136558) is championed by headteachers and key figures in education, and has grown from a 25-school pilot in 2007 to reaching 220,000 children each week, in over 7,000 clubs.

Membership to the organisation is free for state-funded schools and includes:

  • A curated catalogue of thousands of free films delivered straight to the school through our partner, LOVEFiLM
  • A content-rich website
  • Online reviewing
  • A dedicated club web page to manage your club
  • FILMCLUB branded resources and materials to attract pupil membership
  • A varied industry interaction programme shared on the website with all members
  • Personal school support and advice
