Description:
This activity has been developed to fit in with QCA KS2 Unit 9: What was it like for children in the Second World War? Section 4: What was it like to be an evacuee? And also KS3 Unit 18: Hot war, cold war why did the major twentieth-century conflicts affect so many people? Section 5: What do local people remember about the main conflicts? A class of KS2 children could use the links to the Birmingham Lives website to use the writing frame to write a letter to their parents (KS3 children) In turn the KS3 children could reply to their 'children'. This resource provides an excellent opportunity for KS2-3 liaison work.
