BGfL as a leading learning space
BGfL as a leading learning space

bgfl.org is delivered via website technology. So is it dated technology or a leading learning space?

Interestingly, next to the current explosion of social media tools and web platforms, bgfl.org is ticking many of the boxes in the latest trends of online technology, online design and online behaviour.

Eg: a shift to more visual content, learner-centred content, more mobile content ...

Here’s one fascinating example of a current trend in online spaces: Social Functionality Makes Websites Fashionable Again

This article describes how websites looked dated a few years ago while businesses were directed by media experts to move to social media tools.

However, the explosion in the number of social media tools that people are now trying to juggle has caused a seismic shift in the role for websites from dated technology to ‘digital hub’. That is, a platform to coordinate those tools to prevent social media overload for their users.

bgfl.org  is undergoing a substantive social media-isation including:

  • the recent social media Share Bar
  • a Social Media in Schools pilot, and
  • an ongoing development of the site as a hub for users' social media sharing tools such as Facebook and Twitter.
