Air Cadets offer exciting opportunities to develop young people's spirit of adventure, leadership and citizenship qualities through practical training which also includes opportunities for BTEC qualifications. 489 Squadron recruit young people between the ages of 13 and 17 but they are able to stay until they are 20, and teach the aviation studies, public services, how to fly aircraft, fire weapons, Duke of Edinburgh award, discipline, adventure training, sports and camps both in the UK and abroad.
