World Water Day 2012: 22 March 2012

World Water Day 2012 draws attention to something most of us take for granted, even though it is absolutely fundamental to our daily lives – safe water.

Incredibly, there are still nearly one billion people worldwide without access to clean water.

Each of us drinks from 2 to 4 litres of water every day, from the tap - but mostly from our food. The problem is that there isn't enough food or water for the 7 billion people alive today on the planet.

So, we need to conserve water and we need to clean it up!
