This 8-week programme tested in June 2007 successfully shows how Promethean and Activexpression learner response systems could provide a classroom-based route to easy AfL: formative assessment and instant feedback. The pilot took place in 4 Birmingham Leading Edge Partnership schools (Kings Norton CLC) whose main areas of focus are: - Maths: raising attainment across the partnership.
- New Technologies: developing the use of new technologies to create an inclusive, innovative and exciting learning environment.
- Student Voice: eg: involving students more in their own learning.
The pilot enables all three focus areas to be explored and the general consensus was that the handhelds were particularly helpful in achieving all three, particularly the instant feedback essential to effective AfL. |
