Description:
Pollen Park has been specifically developed for children studying Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum, Unit 5b, Lifecycles. The website can provide your class with valuable learning support, offering both education and entertainment. Pollen Park endeavours to explain the complex process of plant reproduction in a straight forward manner; information is presented clearly and logically separated into obvious sections, enabling users to navigate freely, making their own relaxed decisions and discoveries. It is a superb site built by Christina Handford.
Resource Support Notes:
The site focuses upon the learning objectives and expectations set out by the QCA and aims to facilitate an understanding of the following:

1. The names of the different parts of the flower and understand the function of each in the reproduction process.
2. The process of pollination and the varied methods of pollen transfer.
3. The process of fertilization and how this differs from pollination
4. The different methods of seed dispersal and why this needs to occur.
5. The process of seed germination and the necessary conditions for it to occur.

This application has been developed in cooperation with Jackie Oakes and her Year 6 Class at The Marsh County Primary School, and under the direction of Dr. Mellissa Lee Price.
