Support for Teaching the Deaf and Hearing Impaired

For special help the following connections will be important:

British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD) - a definitive guide to help in this area.

Deafax - working with communication and technology. These web pages are an Internet resource provided by deaf people for deaf people and are still under development. The Deafax Trust is a UK charity set up "to benefit deaf people by giving them access to all forms of communication and encouragement to become expert in its use". There is a registration form to join a communication club and details of a project supporting deaf children's use of e-mail.

Deaf World Web The Deaf World Web is a resource for individuals and deaf communities world wide.

Three sites for specialist and non-specialists working in this area:

The University of Virginia Special Education site
The Royal National Institute for the Deaf
The Scottish Sensory Centre
