Consultation with children and young people on Strategy for Special Provision

The City is reviewing its special provision and is engaging in the widest possible consultation, including seeking the views of children and young people. This has been led by the C&YP workstream reporting to the Strategic Working Group chaired by Cllr Lawrence. The remit of this workstream is to ensure full consultation with children, with and with out special needs, across all education settings.

This phase of the consultation is now closed. The final report now available. Click here to view/download.

The materials (see links below) on these pages have been developed so that pupils in your school can participate in the development of the strategy. You can use them however you feel appropriate for your setting and the group you have chosen to work with, for example
• your school council
• a particular class or year group
• a subject area, for example PSHE

We are happy to receive the views of your pupils in any format. Please include a completed data sheet with all returns which must be made by Wednesday 20th March at the latest to cyp@bss.plus.bgfl.org  or by post to:

Fiona Wallace

For further information please email cyp@bss.plus.bgfl.org or contact Nesrim Mesnani on 0121 303 0272 who will direct your query to a member of the workstream.
