| A passenger on top of a 'bus going up Salisbury Road towards Moseley
Village will catch glimpses to the left, behind the eighty-years-old
villas, of a wooded dell and perhaps of a placid lake. To the right
is an overgrown hollow, and a range of stone and stucco buildings
can be seen through the trees. This is the north prospect of Moseley
Hall. Its present grounds and the sylvan valley opposite are the surviving
remnant of the landscaped park in which the Hall used to lie secluded.
The story of Moseley Hall is largely the tale of two families and
one man, whose names provide the chapter headings of this account. |
