C.B., Devereux 1640, Bridgmans 1712 - later Earls of Bradford, still
owners. Hall c.1630, porch later C17th. Early Georgian chapel encasing
timber structure. 1706 acres of C.B., excluding village, taken into
Birmingham 1931, bounded by Erdington, Little Bromwich, Yardley,
Yorkswood, Chester/Bradford Roads, Tame. Hodge Hill Hall, moated,
c.1569, sub-manor in 1622. Stechford Hall also demolished. Comet
Inn C17th.
