Kings Norton Junior and Infant School is a thriving over-subscribed two form entry school situated in the southern suburbs of the City of Birmingham. The School was opened in 1876 and forms an integral part of a village within a city. |
The school population reflects the very mixed area it serves. Children attend from many socio-economic backgrounds and from different social cultures. |
The school is proud of its work with the community and has gained recognition for the many extra-curricular activities which are provided for pupils. Parents have high expectations and work with the school for the mutual benefit of the children. |
The school participated in the DFEE School improvement pilot and had won many national and regional awards. In June 1997 the school received an excellent Ofsted report which stated: "Kings Norton is a very good and deservedly popular school with some outstanding features." |
There are 420 pupils who are supported by 17 teaching staff, 7 learning support staff and 22 other support staff. The school also has many links with organisations who come into school to support the teaching of the curriculum. |
