Are there still problems like this in the world today? (e.g. unrest or civil rights activities in other countries etc.)

As suggested in the introduction, this project could be produced as a news report using a video camera and a basic studio; an area with a background and desk set-aside in a quite area of the school/classroom. This project would also include a great deal of teamwork and could have the potential to be a very good English speaking and listening exercise. With a little more imagination (and preparation!), this could be transferred as a drama task if the children were to dress up as newsreaders or act out sections from Thomas Attwood’s life to edit into the completed news story.
