Blanketweed

Blanketweed grows on the sides of ponds.  It is bright green and looks like thin pieces of cotton thread. 

Blanketweed can grow in very quickly if it gets lots of sunlight.  Too much blanketweed in a pond can make it difficult for fish to breathe. 

Another name for blanketweed is pondweed.
