Curriculum content on the BGfL website will no longer be updated

Since its launch in 2000, the Birmingham Grid for Learning website (www.bgfl.org) has strived to provide a range of high quality information and resources to support learning across the city. The development of the site was a requirement of the National Grid for Learning grant funding originally released in 1998; since then National and Local priorities have changed and content creation is no longer seen as a role for the local authority, which was supported by both the usage of this function and the feedback received from schools when reviewing BGFL earlier this year.

Although the decision has been taken to stop updating the curriculum content from the end of July 2012, the web site will still be available as a reference to schools and some content may be migrated to the city council web site, www.birmingham.gov.uk, the city intranet, inline.birmingham.gov.uk or the Link2ICT web site, www.link2ict.org over the coming months.

This decision does not affect ebriefing, ebriefing.bgfl.org, the schools financial information, www.bgfl.org/budget, the perform database, www.bgfl.org/perform or the schools directory, www.bgfl.org/schools. All these services will continue as normal.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and engagement with the curriculum content on the BGfL web site over the years.
