I have discovered that the new / revised RE agreed syllabus was adopted on 25/5/07. When will schools have sight of this document?

First of all, schools will not be expected to teach the 2007 Agreed Syllabus until September 2008.

Initial information will be disseminated to Head Teachers, followed by notification of teacher training in the Spring Term and simultaneous online publication with all of the details.

Interestingly, one key difference to the 1995 Agreed Syllabus is that the latest 2007 version provides a much greater focus upon Attainment Target 2 (Learning from Religious Traditions) than upon Attainment Target 1 (Learning about Religious Traditions).

This focal shift has led to the development of the concept of 'dispositions' for pupils, where a disposition is defined as "a prevailing quality of character marked by an inclination or a will to act in a particular way or by a tendency to a certain kind of action".
