| This is an interactive resource for creating sentences from word banks. The word banks can be changed to include any sets of words you'd like. Included with the Sentence Builder and Word Banks are some worksheets to enable an online game to be played. |
This activity has been designed to help pupils understand and explore grammar and syntax in a fun way.
The activity has two parts - the Sentence Builder where pupils can draw from the word banks to create their own sentences and the Word Banks. These are where pupils or teachers can enter their own sets of words, perhaps to reflect their current spellings or a topic such as the Tudors etc.
The power behind this resource is its total flexibility - priming the word banks with some rhyming words for example will allow pupils to explore poetry or use it to rebuild familiar texts and then change them - its uses are limited only by the imagination.
This resource is based on an idea from Winsome Thomas (BASS) Pupil Notes What's the difference between a verb and adverb?
This activity will help you understand the answer to the question as well as help you with many other different parts of sentences. The Sentence Builder allows you to create sentences from word banks. The clever part is that you can choose what words go into the banks! |
