Description:
This is the latest 2009 version of School Booster, which now includes the latest resource: The Magically Multiplying Tuck Shop! Maths Booster! School Booster 2009 offers teachers and learners a Virtual School environment in which a growing collection of maths booster resources have been designed to boost the mathematical achievement of Birmingham Year 6 pupils, both for their SATs assessments and beyond.
Resource Support Notes:

THE MAGICALLY MULTIPLYING TUCK SHOP (2009 MATHS BOOSTER)

This is the latest annual revision resource designed by BGfL to boost Key Stage 2 learners’ expertise in the multiplication of 2-digit and 3-digit numbers – one of the identified barriers to achievement of Maths Level 4 in previous years’ SATs tests.

The Magically Multiplying Tuck Shop is an interactive learning activity which offers an engaging, if eerie, alternative to more mundane worksheet-based approaches, in which a Zombie Shopkeeper runs a Magic Tuck Shop inside a Haunted Forest for learners visiting the School Booster.

5 Stages: Learners develop their multiplying skills as part of problem-solving skills:
  • Try a Brain-warmer!
  • Picture it!
  • Estimate it!
  • Calculate it!
  • Check it!

3 Levels:               Whizzkid (2-digit  x 1-digit)      Magician (3-digit x 1-digit)     Wizard (2-digit x 2-digit)
