VIP Presents Youth Expose 2012 Our Aims Last August Voice Is Power put a bid for some project money from a scheme run by Starbucks; two elected young people taking place in a training session and two rounds of pitching. We were successful in both a sum of money and mentoring from Starbucks themselves on hosting the day. Our aim for this event is to organize a ‘youth festival’, celebrating Birmingham’s many cultures and encouraging multi-cultural thinking within young people, and also to promote the youth parliament and the many opportunities out there for young people. We are happy to be co-working with our colleauges in Birmingham Youth Service to ensure that we build on the sucess of previous Youth Expose events. We are compiling a line-up of musicians, dancers, poets, as well as speakers from our own group, all to send a message about the excellent work provided by Birmingham Youth Service, to promote young peoples talent and celebrate diversity in Birmingham. Date: 9th August Time : 11am - 6pm Where: Priory Square. Birmingham City Centre if you want to perform or find out more contact us: vip@birmingham.gov.uk Our target audience is young people, teens from ages 11-18, however the days performances will be suitable for all ages to interact with.
