The Healthy Settings Award supports settings to improve on their previous practice and to celebrate good practice.  Settings have to meet a rigorous set of standards against set criteria in

  1. Personal, Social and Health Education
  2. Healthy eating
  3. Physical Activity
  4. Emotional health and well-being.

The expectation is that the settings identify their starting point through an audit of current practice, develop and action plan for improving practice and be able to demonstrate the impact of changes. At this stage the setting can self validate and is awarded Early Years Healthy setting status.

The programme has been evaluated. Please click here to download the Evaluation report or contact Kathy Bird, Education Adviser for further information.
