Birmingham City Council’s Rights and Participation (RAP) Service has been successful in securing funding to deliver the Gallery 37 programme for the Culture Commissioning Service.  Within this programme, we aim to provide an opportunity specifically for our young people in care and care leavers to be introduced to a range of arts based experiences with a focus on developing and promoting positive images of young people in care in Birmingham

 
     
What's We Plan To Do
     
 

Rights and Participation Service, Home Managers and staff from 5 disabled children's homes are currently working in partnership with Kerrang! has part of RAP ARTS 12 (Gallery 37). 

They have devised a program of activity suitable for children and young people with disabilities to discover and explore multi media opportunities.  During August, children and young people from 5 disabled children's homes in Birmingham will have the opportunity to participate in K-BOOM Kerrang experience days to create poems, raps, live music, interviews etc......  The children and young people will be exploring hopes and dreams for children and young people in Birmingham. 

On Saturday 18th August, the young people will participate in an Awards Ceremony hosted by the Young Disabled Champions at Kerrang - celebrating their achievements.  The young participants will be working towards Arts Arts..........watch this space for more RAP ARTS 12 activities for children and young people in care........

How To Get Involved
     
 
  • If you are In care or a care leaver  and are interested in the Arts and want to take part in the  project.
  • You can register interest by completing the expression of interest form.
  • We will then send you further information .
  • Numbers are limited for the programme so early registration is essential to avoid disappointment.
